Tortoise Properties CEO Jake Geleerd has a successful real estate track record that included serving as chief executive officer and an owner of SkyDome, now Rogers Centre, from April 1998 to November 2004. Under his leadership, he led the acquisition of Rogers Centre for parent company Sportco International out of a highly publicized bankruptcy. Rogers Centre features a Renaissance Hotel, five restaurants, MLB baseball, NFL football, NBA basketball, and commercial real estate. As CEO Geleerd led a loyal team of over 2,000 staff members 365 days a year to return SkyDome to its proper stature as a leader in the entertainment industry hosting MLB, NFL, NBA games as well as stadium concert tours, Wrestlemania and corporate events.
